Is it even allowed for our teachers to use AI like this?
Claude for Teachers is a first-party Anthropic product for verified educators, covered by a K-12 data processing addendum written for FERPA compliance, and teacher chats are not used to train the model. What is or isn't allowed in your building is your policy call, which is exactly why the training includes a leadership policy session: you leave with an acceptable-use starter, not a gray area.
Do our teachers need accounts before the training?
No. Module zero is the signup: every teacher verifies and configures their free account during the session, on their own device. If your school wants a head start, we send a 5-minute walkthrough beforehand.
Google is offering free AI training in September. Why pay for this?
Take the free training too, honestly. It is a webinar about AI in general, built for six million teachers at once. We don't have a school AI policy yet. Is that a problem?
It's the normal case. The leadership hour exists for exactly this: you leave with a draft acceptable-use skeleton, an academic-integrity stance to react to, and language for talking to parents. A policy you write after your staff understands the tool beats one written from headlines.
How does scheduling work around our in-service days?
Three ways. The live virtual training splits into two 90-minute sessions that fit early-release or PD-block schedules. The in-person intensive runs as a half day, and Saturdays are available if your calendar is already full. The self-paced course fits anywhere, including as pre-work before a live session.
What does a Saturday workshop actually look like?
Half a day in your building: coffee, laptops, and every teacher working on material they will teach that week. Hands-on labs by department, a "build your Monday lesson" block, and a leadership session at the end. Teachers leave with finished artifacts, not notes about someday.
What if our teachers are skeptical, or burned out on tech PD?
Skeptics are the favorite audience. Nothing in the training asks anyone to believe anything: we put a teacher's own lesson in front of them and let the tool earn its place. The teachers who arrive with arms crossed usually leave with the longest prompt lists.
How do we pay, and does this need board approval?
Fixed price, one invoice, W-9 and vendor paperwork ready. Every package is priced to sit inside typical building-level purchasing authority, so most schools can approve it on a principal's or head of school's signature without a procurement cycle.
